The Eau Claire River Watershed Association is a recently formed 501c3 organization.
The purpose of the ECRWA (the “Corporation”) is to work within the 882 square mile Eau Claire River Watershed with the purpose of improving and protecting the overall environment, particularly the multiple streams, lakes and wetlands. The long-term maintenance of the water resources within this watershed could have major consequences for the wildlife, the forests and grasslands, agricultural resources, and the many human inhabitants of the region. Climate change and land development practices are already exhibiting negative impacts on the characteristics of the watershed. One of the primary functions of the ECRWA will be to monitor through sound scientific and engineering practices the changes observed within the watershed and prescribe and seek methods of reclamation when required. Another important function of the corporation will be to garner support from members of all communities within the watershed to support its mission. This will be accomplished by successfully partnering with individual volunteers, local and state governments, educational institutions and businesses and other non-profits.
Our work is guided by a set of core values, including conservation practices, integrity, and collaboration. We believe that by upholding these values, we can create meaningful and sustainable within our watershed.
By consistently monitoring water quality, addressing sedimentation problems, managing fisheries, and enhancing the ecosystem's health, we aim to establish a legacy of sustainable usage for future generations.
Join us in our mission to make a difference within the watershed. The Eau Claire River watershed is an area (nearly 900 square miles) of land that drains all streams and rainfall. Click below to read details of the Eau Claire River Watershed and Coalition.
